Writing for pleasure

Honey Mountain by Jane Taylor

Yes, I write for pleasure but now that I’ve self published a real book and it is resting in my hand the game is afoot. I’m told that I should promote it and although I’m trying, honest I am, it’s really, really hard.

The trouble is that, although I’ve read acres about what to do, I find it all fairly incomprehensible. You see, I’m what might be described as a complete computer-numpty, an electronically-savvy amoeba, an internet ignoramus.

My daughter Emily is completely the opposite of course. As well as being the artist who created the lovely-looking characters for this book she is a web designer and one who in her work-life is joined at the hip to a computer all day. Unfortunately we live 1.5 hours away by road (like the ancient Chinese I always use time to measure distance) and we can’t meet up anyway because of Covid-19 restrictions.

So, I’ll just take this opportunity of thanking simplesite.com for making it so easy to construct a blog. I hope that my first post doesn’t put you off. I may have difficulties with modern methods of communication but I still have a lot to say. I’m just going now to sharpen some quills!
